Sunday: Graduation!
Monday - May28th: Drive to West Virginia with Tess and the boys! Chill in Sheperdstown before heading down to Ashville to meet up with Gavin. Hang in Ashville, explore swimming holes, go backpacking in the Smokey mountains, and after many adventures head back up north.
June 1st: Move into the apartment! (I'll be living at 185 powderhouse fools)
June 1st - 5th: Work at Olin with the beeeeeeessss:
June 7th: Start program at Harvard. Yay tetrahedral robots and having no idea what I am doing!
It's the summer. Let's hang out.

i have now officially applied to three REUs and 2 jobs. I have 1 job left to apply to and hopefully that will be that. If I can't get any of the 6 things I applied to I'll pretty bummed out to say the least.
In other news i can walk again which is pretty sweet.
highlights from the lab: 1. citral has a most wonderfully lemony smell 2. i am getting trained on the confocol microscope which is hands down the fanciest piece of equipment we have at olin - i am excited.

so yesterday i was coming back from the dining hall, celebrating having one a game of pool, and i decided to skip my way back to the dorm in victory. I then made the sweet decision to be totally lame at skipping and landed on the top of my left foot and...
well today i am on crutches and have a special shoe that i have to wear. apparently i sprained my foot...EXCELLENT
you know what is fun - telling everyone in the ER that you maybe broke your foot while skipping. WIN.

I really like hearing the things people say to themselves.
For example, today well I was working in the dining hall this girl walked past me eating a brownie and said "nom nom nom" to herself.
EXCELLENT.
In other news, beekeeping is fabulous. I can't wait until I get my cool helmet.

| Style watch in Santiago: Summer Edition |

So the summer (well i guess it is still spring) has arrived in Santiago and it is crazy hot (89.6 F yesterday!). Thus the entire world is trading in their skinny jeans and parkas for a new cooler look. Here are my favorite summer trends thus far:
1. Wearing your sunglasses in the metro - the fact that it is underground and is thus totally sunfree shouldn´t stop you from looking hip.
2. Pants with a ridiculously low crotch - this trend is mostly rocked by women in santiago trying to look like they don´t have legs. imagine huge MC hammer pants with a crotch that comes down to the ankles. HOT!
3. Skinny ankles - skinny ankles are totally in, and since skinny jeans would result in hyperthermia in this heat the lovely people of santiago have opted for the next best thing - poofyish pants that have elastics around the ankles.
4. fanny pack - the always necessary santiago accessory that transcends any season.
in other news i have a week and a half more of class. WOOHOO!
